So it's the end of a bleak and depressing January, you're broke, put on 5 pounds since Christmas and the new year's resolutions have gone out of the window. Basically, life is back to being as shit as it used to be.

What you need is some motivation mixed in with some funny stories for good measure!

Enter the amazing, hilarious and wonderful Amy Poehler!!!!

Now I am a big Amy fan. She was in my favourite movies of all time Mean Girls, and she wrote and produced the hilarious Park and Recreation (for those of you who haven't watched it, please don't waste any more time!)

Yes please is a collection of essays, memoirs and funny incidents that Amy has put together to give advice and lessons about life and comedy. From her time on SNL to getting out of college and eventually creating Parks and Recreation, each story is very honest and filled with lessons learnt. I admire Amy as an actress, a writer and an entertainer and I knew I was going into this book knowing I would love it.

I had so many emotions finishing this book. This story was so heartfelt and relatable and I loved every single second.  It made me cry and it made me laugh, it took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. Amy has written her book a bit like improv she goes back and forth with the tales and stories and it is very honest and very truthful it’s not well crafted it’s not politically correct and it doesn’t honestly have a structure but I really like that because that is who Amy Poehler is and that is shows in her book.

I read the physical copy of this book but I would highly highly recommend the audiobook. The audiobook is read by Amy Poehler herself with lots of special guests recorded in her own studio. It just gives the book that extra WOW factor.

It took me a while to get through the improv sections because honestly, I don’t know much about the world of improv and comedy or the techniques. But at the end of the day, this is a memoir and a collection of essays all about Amy‘s life and she has hit the nail on her head and really produced herself as a book which is absolutely brilliant. I will be giving this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Don't forget guys, I post every Mondays and Fridays so be sure to check in!

Also, I will be posting more behinds the scenes kind of stuff on Instagram stories so be sure to follow me and check it out!!
