Timmy Green

London, my soul and my heart.

My favourite city in the world, I adore the liveliness and electric atmosphere and the streets steeped in culture.

For my birthday, I was lucky enough to receive tickets to see my first ever musical Wicked at the Apollo Victoria in London.

Now you have to make sure you are fully prepared so that you can enjoy the experience fully. Make sure your phone is switched off, make sure you've been to the bathroom and most importantly make sure you are not hungry!

There are plenty of restaurants which are a stone throw away from the theatre but we decided to settle on Timmy Green, an Australian restaurant with lots of emphasis on clean fresh food which appealed to me instantly.

We started off with drinks, a very smooth pornstar martini with the customary shot of prosecco and Malbec for the Mr.

For starters, we went these gorgeous tuna tostadas which are literally the best thing I have ever eaten. The tuna was so fresh, the avocados were so creamy and the yuzu cream on top gave it that little zing. Highly highly recommend.

We also shared some halloumi fries that were served with pomegranate and a sort of tangy yoghurt. I have never had fried halloumi before so this was a new experience and I can say that I really enjoyed it.

We also shared the crispy calamari with green beans and courgettes. The calamari was coated in a tasty batter and came with a sauce called 'holy f*ck sauce' which I think was supposed to be spicy but just tasted like a light mayonnaise. Probably not one I would order again.

After the large array of starters, we decided to go with steak for our main. I went with the rump steak with peppercorn sauce and duck fat fries. Honestly, I find when I go to restaurants to eat steak, they never cook it to my preference even though I tell them specifically 'medium rare'. But Timmy Green, they did it perfectly. Plus with those triple cooked duck fat fries, crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle...perfection.

I would highly highly recommend a visit to Timmy Green. The food is delicious, the staff are lovely and the interior makes me want to take pictures and add them to my Pinterest board.

Also, a shout out to the best doughnuts I have ever eaten from Crosstown Doughnuts. The sea salt caramel and banana doughnut was the perfect combination of soft goey sweetness in my mouth. Similar sounds of delight came from the other half who had gone for the Mississippi mud pie - a chocolate doughnut filled with chocolate custard and dark chocolate ganache.

To top off the evening, Wicked was the most amazing musical I have ever seen. If you have not watched it please please I beg you take your entire family, your dog, your cat, everyone, because you are seriously missing out!

You can find Timmy Green here, CrossTown Doughnuts here, and definitely definitely check out the musical Wicked here.

Don't forget guys, I post every Mondays and Fridays so be sure to check in!
