I. Love. Steak.
Steak is literally my favourite.
I like my medium rare with all the trimmings; roast potatoes, veg, and gravy.
My dad, on the other hand, prefers steak that you can eat with chapatti.
A true Indian.
So my mum invented this tandoori steak recipe to satisfy his craving.
Served with naan or chapattis or even rice this dish is bound to be a delicious addition to your family favourites.
2 large beef flank steaks, roughly 500g
3 tbsp yoghurt
3 tbsp tandoori paste
2 tsp coriander powder
2 tsp cumin powder
2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
4 tbsp tomato ketchup
salt to taste
2 tbsp oil
2 onions, thickly sliced
1 red pepper, sliced
fresh coriander, to garnish
1. Marinate the beef steaks with yoghurt, tandoori paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garlic paste, ginger paste, tomato ketchup and salt and mix and leave overnight.
2. In a pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add in the beef and cook for 45 mins until tender.
3. Now add the onions and pepper and cooks for a further 15 mins until the peppers are just cooked through.
Garnish with coriander and serve hot with naan or rice!
